Hey Everyone,

It is with much regret to inform you that SlutWalk Waterloo will no longer be taking place this Sunday the 15th at 1:30 pm. We apologize for the short notice. However, we do plan to reschedule at a later date.
Unfortunately, it is going to be cold and rainy all day. While we know that most of you are dedicated enough to show up in the rain, we would not be able to use audio equipment for guest speakers. Without the use of audio equipment our message cannot really be told, and we feel that SlutWalk Waterloo would not live up to its potential. This is a huge disappointment, and for that we apologize. We are surely disappointed as well.
Many of you felt so passionate about this because you wanted to use your voice and time to make a difference. If I may recommend, http://www.waterlooregion.org/cic/resources/links/ here is a list of community links of local organizations where you can volunteer some time. The Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region http://sascwr.org/events.htm is also a place where you could donate your time, or use for personal support. SASCW also has many community events, including a march called Taking Back the Night. Taking Back the Night usually takes place in fall, and allows for women and transfolk to walk. For those of you still wanting to take place in SlutWalk, Hamilton is having on June 5th http://www.slutwalktoronto.com/satellite.
Once again, we are sorry for the inconvenience. We are deeply sorry, and appreciate your understanding in the matter. We hope that you can all make it to our rescheduled date, which will be announced later. This push back of the date will also allow for SlutWalk Waterloo to be even bigger and better. We also thank you for all of your support along the way. We hope to have your continued support as we aim for a date with better weather.
