Fuck Yeah! Feminism

Alright, so I feel like something should be said.  I know so many people who are on the fence about attending this weekend’s SlutWalk in Waterloo.  Some have mentioned not wanting to get involved, thinking all activism = violent protest, but that is completely misguided.  The SlutWalk is about raising awareness of the appalling state in which we find not only our own country, but also countries around the world, justifying rape because of how a person dresses, smells, or puts “sex in the air”.  The point of this walk is to reiterate that nothing we or anyone does is a justification for somebody to violate, rape or assault another person. 

I get that it’s a Sunday, that we’re all busy and like having our lazy Sunday’s to ourselves.  This is ONE Sunday out of many that you will have to sit at home reading, watching tv, gaming, or whatever it is you like to do. 

So please, come out on Sunday May 15, at 1:30 at Waterloo Town Square and fight against a culture that encourages victim blaming and rape justifications.
